Q: How do I get paid if I live outside the United States?

A: We pay via PayPal. If you live outside the US, your earnings are subject to a 30% backup withholding tax. However, the US has income tax treaties with many countries and under these treaties, residents of foreign countries are taxed at a reduced rate, or are exempt from U.S. income taxes. These reduced rates and exemptions vary among countries.
To guarantee you qualify to receive the full or partial exemption from backup withholding tax, you should complete and submit a W-8BEN, to Mybard. To fill out the form electronically, please follow the steps below:

1. Sign in to your account.
2. Click on your username at the top right hand corner of most Mybard pages.
3. Go to My Sales > Payment Info.
4. Click on the "Form W-8BEN" link at the bottom of the page.

A properly completed form must include a taxpayer identification number (EIN or ITIN). If you don't have a taxpayer identification number, you can obtain an EIN by calling the Internal Revenue Service(IRS) at +1 (267) 941-1099. Individuals applying for an EIN may do so under the Sole Proprietor category, even if you are not starting a business.

If you are a foreign entity, withholding is waived when your books are electronically delivered outside the United States.
