Q: How do I get my payments?

A: You may choose to receive payments via PayPal or via paper check (US authors or publishers only).

If you choose to receive your payments via PayPal, you will be paid on a monthly basis. If your accrued profit is less than $25 at the end of the month, your payments will be carried over to the following month(s) until $25 is reached.

If you choose to receive your payments via paper check, you will be paid on a quarterly basis. If your accrued profit is less than $25 at the end of the quarter, your payments will be carried over to the following quarter(s) until $25 is reached.

To be paid, you must fill out your payment info and tax form completely. To fill out the forms electronically, please follow the steps below:

1. Sign in to your account.
2. Click on your username at the top right hand corner of most Mybard pages.
3. Go to My Sales > Payment Info.
4. Click on the "Form W-9" or "Form W-8BEN" link at the bottom of the page.

If you are a U.S. resident, please fill out the W-9 form to avoid backup withholding tax (28%).

If you are not a U.S. resident, please fill out the W-8BEN form to avoid backup withholding tax (30%). Please refer to “Instructions for Form W-8BEN “ link on top of the W-8BEN form. A properly completed form must include a taxpayer identification number (SSN, EIN or ITIN). If you don't have a U.S. taxpayer identification number, you can select SSN in the section 6 and enter nine zeros (000000000).

Please make sure that your information on the payment info section and tax form should be consistent.
